Wyoming Auto Theft Statistics776 motor vehicle thefts were reported in 2006 according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, up 5.0% from 2005. Nationwide, the number of auto thefts decreased 3.4%. Using the FBI's average valuation of $6,173 per stolen vehicle, this amounts to an estimated $4.8 million in losses during 2006, in vehicle value alone.
